Honestly - there is so much red tape in education - it is amazing that we vote so many people into office that know so little about education. Education is not business - it doesn’t work like business, isn’t ran like a business, and isn’t suppose to be!
Education reform? Hmmmm…..It has to start at the top and the State has to give the District $$ and then back the heck off and rely on the District to make their schools work. That means that the State should not budget money and say that schools have to spend so and so here and such and such there - just give them the lump sum and let them figure out how to do it.
Each district has a board, an administration, and a community - let them do it.
Hey Gov. Walker - reforming education doesn’t just start with $$ - or I should say cutting of money. You’re going to need to go a heck of a lot deeper than that!
I have more ideas, but I feel this is getting long here…..and I’m beginning to ramble, but what do I know, I’m just a high school social studies teacher - anybody can do what I do…
